Super Adventures in Bitmap Brothers Games - Game 3
I'm just going to sit here and stare at this screen for a couple more minutes. The title screen music is so awesome they actually named the game after it. The Amiga's floppy disk version has a mod version of a song called Megablast, by Bomb the Bass, the CD version has a remix, (youtube links) and they're both great. In my humble opinion.

Speedball (Atari ST)
Super Adventures in Bitmap Brothers Games - Game 2
There aren't many sports games on this site, and the main reason for that is they're generally not very interesting to look at in screenshots. This is the left side of the pitch, this is the right side of the pitch, you've just seen the entire game.
Plus I'm bad at them. Really really bad at them. And I hate them.
But whatever, I'm going to play Speedball anyway.

Xenon (Atari ST)
Super Adventures in Bitmap Brothers Games - Game 1
You know, I suddenly have an inexplicable urge to play every game made by (legendary 16-bit era developer) 'The Bitmap Brothers' in chronological order. Or a week's worth of them anyway.
Okay, their first game was a space shoot 'em up called Xenon. I can tell that without even playing it because, well, what else is a game called Xenon going to be?

Red Ocean (PC) - Guest Post
Before you click Read On, have a go at guessing the name of the protagonist in today's FPS Friday game. Go on, guess.
I'll give you a clue: they wanted a tough name. This is a man who Gets Things Done. Nobody messes with this guy.

Shadowrun (Genesis/Mega Drive)
Welcome to the latest episode of 'Ray Hardgrit is Easily Confused by Old School RPGs'. This week starring Shadowrun (the Genesis/Mega Drive game).
This is apparently a very different rpg to the SNES Shadowrun that guest poster Kraed played a few weeks ago. I've heard it sticks closer to the source material in content and gameplay.

Extreme (ZX Spectrum)
The humble rubber keyed ZX Spectrum home computer is 30 years old today, so I thought I'd put a Speccy game on to, I dunno, celebrate or whatever.
I haven't had much luck with Spectrum games so far, but this one has to be good, surely? It's got a naked dude with robot walker legs and a Stormtrooper helmet setting fire to shit with a flamethrower while flexing! You just don't see that kind of thing on title screens these days.

Donkey Kong (GB)
By request, I have (finally) gotten around to playing Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. I don't see any barrels or damsels in distress on this title screen, so maybe I'm actually playing as Donkey Kong himself this time.

Wasteland (MS-DOS)
Wow, that's pretty bad. Maybe not the worst title screen on my site so far... or then again maybe it is. They probably should have switched to a different idea when it became obvious they didn't have the colours to pull off a mushroom cloud. Though for all I know they DID have the colours, and they did this deliberately.
Uh, I apologise to any Wasteland fans reading this, because I'm probably going to be saying crap like this about your game for the entire post. I mean I'm so bad at classic rpgs that there's a good chance I'll be whining about getting a game over on the character creation screen. Sorry.

Ecco the Dolphin (Genesis/Mega Drive) - Guest Post
So Ray asks me "Hey mecha-neko, why don't you play a console game?", and I say "Sure, why not. What should I play?". He says "Why don't you play a neko game?". I say "A neko game? I'd love to play a neko-"
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!

Beauty and the Beast (NES)
It's making an attempt at the theme song, but it's not quite there. For one thing I don't remember the original music having drums.

Soldier of Fortune (PC) - Guest Post
I've heard good things about this one.
You can click the images to make them slightly bigger (800x600)!

Whizz (SNES)
This seems to have come out on PC first, then it got a release on Amiga, and then later the Saturn and PlayStation got a port of their own. But I'll be playing the SNES version.
