Atomic Runner (Genesis/Mega Drive)

ATTENTION: THIS ARTICLE HAS BEEN RECLASSIFIED AS BEING 'A BIT CRAP'.
But I took a more detailed look at the arcade version here: Atomic Runner Chelnov (Arcade).

It's... Monty Python's Flying Circus.

I see what kind of game we're dealing with here.

Somewhere, in a secret lab (probably)...

CRASH! Atomic Runner springs into action! He smashes out of the globe he was contained inside, and leaps into the fray.

And he's running, always running. You can make him stop by pulling left but that doesn't stop the screen from scrolling, so you're always going forward.

Atomic Runner has many enemies. Like walls, which instantly kill him.

But that's okay, he can shoot through walls! He can shoot through anything, he can fire forwards, or 45 degrees upwards. Or he can do spinning backflips to fill the screen with a 360 degree arc of death. It seems that half the enemies on screen are carrying pick ups that boost Atomic Runner's murder potential, upgrading his weaponry... with DEADLY consequences.

It's hard to take screenshots while pulling off backwards somersaults and cutting through enemies though so you'll have to take my word for it.

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Next game.
