Jurassic Park II: The Chaos Continues (SNES)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 10.

Man, it's lucky that they decided to call the second Jurassic Park movie 'The Lost World' instead of 'Jurassic Park 2' or else this could have gotten confusing.

Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition (Genesis/Mega Drive)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 9.

I'm not sure why this is called the 'Rampage Edition', when it's actually an entirely different game to the other Mega Drive/Genesis platformer. Couldn't they have just gone with 'Jurassic Park: Rampage'?

The Catacomb Abyss 3D (MS-DOS) - Guest Post

Today rogue contributor mecha-neko ruins Super Adventures' Jurassic Park week for everyone by playing an antique first person shooter instead. The game doesn't even have a single dinosaur in it!

Here's a picture of a lemming trying to force a block of soap into the mouth of a pinky demon from Doom.

Jurassic Park Interactive (3DO)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 8.

The most dramatic title screen yet. The title feels a little pretentious though. This isn't a mere game, this is Interactive multimedia.

Jurassic Park (Sega Mega CD)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 7.

That's pretty understated compared to the other games. They didn't even add the red lines to the centre of the letters. The music's pretty bad though, it's a shame none of these games have used any of the John Williams movie soundtrack.

Jurassic Park (Genesis/Mega Drive)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 6.

That looks cool. Very dramatic. It seems that the artist got bored adding anti-aliasing to the tyrannosaurus bones halfway through though, and couldn't be bothered getting the text looking right.

Jurassic Park (SNES)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 3.

Whoa, that looks much better than the NES and GB versions. Weirdly I have to control the pointer with the d-pad to select menu options. And the pointer has momentum.

Jurassic Park (GB)

Adventures in Jurassic Park, part 2.

Jurassic Park on the Game Boy is virtually a monochrome carbon copy of the NES version.

Jurassic Park (NES)

Adventures in Jurassic Park special!

I knew there were a few different Jurassic Park games released to tie in with the 1993 movie, but I could never remember which was which. I was sure at least one had a first person view shooting bit, one let you play as a dinosaur, and I'm pretty sure one had Dr Alan Grant (renowned palaeontologist) in a bulletproof vest shooting mercenaries with a machine gun. But now I'm curious which is which, and how many of these damn games are there anyway?

So for the next week or so, it's ALL Jurassic Park games from me. Sorry.

I'm going to be seeing a lot of that logo.

Crazy Nick's Software Picks: Roger Wilco's Spaced Out Game Pack (MS-DOS) - Guest Post

Guest poster mecha-neko continues to torture himself for your entertainment.

Crazy Nick has returned.

Someone has a very cruel sense of humour.

The Portopia Serial Murder Case (NES) - Guest Post

Guest contributor GreatOldOne returns with another ancient NES game. This is easily the oldest game on the site so far in fact.

This is a REALLY old school adventure game where you try to solve a murder with the help of an assistant. Unfortunately, I was spoiled on the identity of the murderer before I started playing, but it should still be an interesting experience, right?

The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang (SNES)

That's a pretty terrifying moon.

The Iconoclasts (PC) - Guest Post

Ocean reappears to play through a bit of this insanely pretty, tragically unfinished freeware title by creator Konjak (visit his site). You can download the game yourself here: download The Iconoclasts.

I was told about the game "Iconoclast" before, so I went to check it up. It is made by the same one who did Noitu Love. I rather liked that one so I decided to give this a try.

I didn't see much of a title screen but this is the first image that showed up so I'll declare it a title screen. I have to say the pixel work is really well done.

The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun (SNES)

Hey, it looks just like the book cover. I've got to give it full marks for that.

Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter (PC) - Guest Post

Regular contributor mecha-neko heads to the far future for another FPS Friday.

So, is Mace a nickname or what?

Portal 2 (PC)

This one I admit is not very retro, but it's my blog and I can break my rules if I want!

Valve always have cool title screens. This is going to have screenshots of areas and puzzles from Portal 2 and may reveal some Portal 1 story, so proceed with caution. It should be pretty safe of serious Portal 2 spoilers though. Mostly.

Nox (PC) - Guest Post

And now, rpg specialist Ocean says a lot of words about this classic Diablo style hack 'em up.

Nox! It is comparable to Diablo 2, especially the graphical style and clicking to attack/move. Right click to move, left click to attack and pick up stuff. How it differs, is mainly in the single player play. Nox has a story, and it is different for each class you take.

Super Valis IV (SNES)

Valis again! I would have thought they'd have a better logo by now, but hey I can't talk.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Guest Post

Occasional contributor K-hos selflessly jumps in to distract attention from my frankly pathetic attempt at Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts, with his own take on another classic platformer.

Super Ghouls'N Ghosts (SNES)

I took another look at the game later, which you can read about here: Super Ghouls'N Ghosts (SNES) - Replay.

Time for a special event.

Nothing obscure about this one, everyone knows it's probably one of the hardest games on the SNES. I'm not playing this out of curiosity, I'm playing this one to win.

Today I'm going to see if I can finish SUPER GHOULS 'N GHOSTS!

Windwalker (MS-DOS) - Guest Post

Mecha-neko is back, and this time he's dragged this in with him. Please don't get your hopes up, it says 'Windwalker', not 'Wind Waker'.

Super Adventure Island 2 (SNES)

See! My blog doesn't have such a stupid title. It's actually very retro... and charming.
